How can I join GABWA or renew my GABWA membership?
Complete an online membership form by logging on to our website here. There you can pay with a credit card. You can also print out your completed application form and mail it along with a check to GABWA, P.O. Box 4381, Atlanta, GA 30302.
What is the membership period?
The membership period for regular and associate members runs from January 1 – December 31.
The membership year for all student members runs from August 1 – July 31.
After I join GABWA, how long before I am added to the GABWA listserve?
After your membership form and payment have been received, you can expect to be added to the listserve within one week. After you have been added to the listserve, you may post messages to the general list serve by sending your email to listserve@gabwa.org.   Please see the Netiquette before posting.
When are general body meetings held?
Unless otherwise noted, general body meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month (excluding June) at 6 p.m.
How can I join a GABWA committee?
All members are welcome to join any of the following committees: Community Service, Fundraising, Gala and Auction, Inter-Bar Relations, Judicial Review, Legal Education, Legally Speaking, Membership, Newsletter, Political Action (PAC), Sister-To-Sister Mentoring, Student Programs, Women-To-Women Initiative and Technology. If you’d like to join a committee, please check the box of the committee you would like to join on your membership form or email the individual committee for more information. Committee meetings are held on various days/times.
How can I join a GABWA Section?
If you’d like to join a section, please check the box of the Section you would like to join on your membership form or send and email to sections@gabwa.org.
How can I make a donation to the GABWA Foundation?
Mail your tax-deductible donation to: GABWA Foundation, P.O. Box 7381, Atlanta, GA 30309-9998.
Is GABWA a statewide organization?
Yes, we have regional chapters in Albany, Athens, Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Savannah. Please check with the vice presidents of those chapters for details about their meetings, events, etc.
How do I update my contact information?
Email the membership committee at membership@gabwa.org. In addition to your contact information, please also notify the membership committee if you’d like to:

  1. Update your practice area
  2. Opt-out of the general GABWA Listserve
  3. Be added to the National Bar Association mailing list
  4. Join a committee or a section
  5. Sponsor an event, provide refreshments for a meeting or provide your firm or home for an event
