This ethics program examines how a lawyer’s or client’s identity (race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, religion, cultural background, or other minority identity) may affect a lawyer’s interactions with clients, courts, opposing counsel, colleagues, and the broader legal system. Through discussion of real-world scenarios, panelists will analyze ethical obligations under the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct and explore how attorneys can recognize and address conflicts of interest, competence concerns, client communication challenges, reporting obligations, implicit bias, and professionalism issues while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
