COLUMBUS
The purpose of the Columbus Regional Chapter is to foster a network of the GABWA’s members, and potential members, residing and/or working in the Columbus, Georgia area.
The Columbus Chapter is committed to improving the lives of women and children in the area by encouraging sisterhood, professionalism, networking and service to the community. The Columbus Chapter has demonstrated this commitment through programs that range from feeding the homeless, to hosting a prom dress drive for area teenage girls, to co-sponsoring the first annual Law Day 4 Girls with the local chapter of Girl’s, Inc., where the Chapter hosted 50 middle and high school girls at the Government Center/Courthouse.
The Columbus Chapter is also proud to have a close working relationships with the other bar associations in the area such as the Columbus Bar Association, Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, and Fountain City Bar Association. We actively seek to collaborate with other bar associations on specialized programs such as the 2014 Lunch and Learn on Leadership with State Bar President Patrise Perkins-Hooker.
Additionally, the Chapter works closely with the local office of Georgia Legal Services on various pro bono initiatives. The Columbus Chapter looks forward to increasing its membership through new and innovative programs, and strengthening ties with future lawyers at Columbus State University and Jones Flaukner Law School.
